About the Art

In the world of art, there is no medium that so effectively captures and portrays emotions as photography.

Why Choose Laake Portrait?

You want a portrait not a picture. Every image is enhanced by highlighting your eyes, removing flaws in your skin including dark circles, wrinkles, blemishes and YES even a double chin. As women we understand the challenges women face on a daily basis with our appearance. We understand the desire to look your best for your photographs, even without having a perfect figure... we know all the tricks to hide the things you want hidden & highlight your best features you don't need to worry about looking great, it's our job to make you look spectacular! I won't change who you are but rather catch you on your best day. A comfortable environment to express your beauty is the first step and essential to having a positive experience. We'd love to transform you into a glamorous, version of yourself by pampering you with model treatment. This is a detailed perfection process that we hold to the highest of standards. We want to give you the star treatment from start to finish.

You see, the portrait sessions are only a portion of the creative side to Laake Portrait Gallery. The Photoshop editing we do takes three times longer than the actual photo shoot. This is where photographic art can really get creative. Magical things happen in that editing department. Most of it happens before the client ever sees the end results.

Here lately I've been adding fashion, glamour and boudoir portraits back into my work. With the right lighting and camera angles EVERY woman looks like a model. We are all diverse and come from different backgrounds, different shapes and sizes. All women want to look and feel beautiful whether you are a business women, mother, housewife, collage student or soon to be a bride. We want to capture you in light that can ignite confidence in the way you see herself. The goal is to create gracious and elegant portraits you can be proud to own for the rest of your life.

No great artist ever sees things as they really are. If he did, he would cease to be an artist. ~ Oscar Wilde
